About
Tony, founder and owner of North Star Land Care, began working in the tree industry in 1990. Although he was born into a family of arborists, he stayed in the industry because he had a natural passion for it and committed to becoming an expert at his craft. Tony’s biggest influence and his first mentor, his father Basilio Martinez was very instrumental in shaping Tony’s view of not only business but the intricacies of life.
At the age of 18, he was the youngest International Certified Arborist. After earning a B.A. from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, he went to work for his Father’s already thriving tree business and together grew it to where they became the largest and most successful company out of Los Angeles County at the Municipal level.
Now in 2017, Tony is forming a new company continuing to bring his expertise to government agencies and communities, and he plans to raise his company to the top of the Industry through employee safety, efficiency, science, technology, better management practices, and most importantly, customer satisfaction.
